WORKSHOPS

In connection with River Heron Writers' Workshops, I will be facilitating creative writing workshops affiliated with Amherst Writers and Artists in Lahaska. I am certified to lead workshops in the AWA method as described in Writing Alone and With Others by Pat Schneider, Oxford University Press. The AWA is an international writing organization founded on the belief that everyone is a writer. It supports practiced and emerging voices through a proven workshop method. This method is one that encourages and supports writers in a generative and positive way. It recognizes the creative genius in all. Read more about the practices and philosophy of  AWA at their website.

We will gather each week for 8 weeks to write and support each others' work in a comfortable environment. Each meeting will include multiple writing and commenting opportunities. Each writer can expect to leave a session having generated new rough draft work along with commentary.

Lahaska workshops will be held at the historic Buckingham Friends Meeting House next to Peddlers Village. The workshop space is large, open, and comfortable with small and large tables for gathering and writing. Parking is on the grounds. Three 8 week workshop sessions will run consecutively from October through mid-June with a break during the December holidays.

The New Hope workshop, facilitated by Judith Lagana, will meet at St. Philips Church at 10 Chapel Road. Parking is on the grounds.

A live online workshop, facilitated by Judith Lagana, is also offered.

You can register and reserve your space or find more information on the River Heron Review website. Space in all classes is limited to 10 writers, eight in the online class. If your choice of workshop fills, there will be a waiting list.
