Since retirement from teaching, my life is encompassed by writing—founder and former editor of River Heron Review, teaching workshops, and my own writing and poetry. "Encompassed." Like the root "compas" from the Old French c. 1300 meaning space, area, extent, circumference; my time is bound by writing.
